One afternoon, shortly before the cross-country trip; I was downtown shooting in Graffiti Alley – as one does when you own a Camera in Toronto – and I came upon this dude. I asked him if I could take a portrait of him, he obliged and I was on may way. I liked the expression on the guys face so much, the colour and the off-balanced composition I decided to include it as one of the pieces in Canada Series 1. About two months into the first public show of the piece I received a message from the guy in the photo, his name is Jason and he thanked me for taking the picture. He said he was surprised to see it hanging downtown.
